Hay guys!
About 3weeks ago, Dundalk pub band the vibez split up! I was told this by the lead guitarist, a friend of mine for years. He approached me in the college bar and put forward a bit of a proposition to me...
The vibez still had loads of gigs lined up in different pubs around the town. Trevor, the lead guitarist, told me that he wanted to do the gigs so he wouldn't be letting the bar managers down. Over the years he has built up a reputation of leading an organised, reliable band. With one missed gig, this reputation could be ruined. So Trevor asked me would i play bass and sing in the band for the remaining gigs, and then see where it goes from there. I said i would!
We were together 2days before we played in Oscars Bar in Dundalk on Sunday 18th of November. Considering we only had one practice we actually played realy well! Then the following Sunday, the 25th of November, with still no practice we played Johny Masons. This gig now was one i don't ever wish to repeat! There was about 20 people in the pub, 10 of them were our family. We found it very hard to engage the audience and because of that, we found it very hard to engage ourselves.
Were going to get allot of practice done over the next two weeks, not because we sound bad, but because we want to rehearse performing, and also want to get to know each other better and have a bit of fun! The next gig is on Sunday the 9th of November in The Avenue Inn on the Avenue Road, so stop in for a pint and a laugh... That's what were doing!
