Learning Lyrics

Hay there!

Performing in a band can be the most enjoyable experience of a persons life. Up on stage, all eyes on you, as you do something you have a love for and are good at! Everybody wants to be seen at their best, seen doing something that will impress others and get complemented on. The fear of making a mistake is immense, especially when you are the only person to blame for it, and you are the person standing in "the lime light". This fear brings on a surge of adrenalin, stimulating every inch of your being! Performing is a chance at making your dreams come true!

You need to let loose if you want to put on a good show. In order to let loose, you first need to be relaxed and let the music put you on edge. You cannot relax if you are not confident. Confident in what to play and when. My problem with the vibes is learning lyrics. Before the gig when I'm meant to be relaxed, I'm on edge because I'm not confident. I can't let loose when I'm reading the lyrics from a sheet of paper. The danger is that because I'm so hyped up before i go on stage, that a mistake will relax me, and I'll start not to care.
